Edinburgh Festival: Tell Me a Secret (2 stars)

“I have a massive fear of failure” a girl whispers to me. This quirky show is based on secrets the company has collected anonymously from the public.

More a series of snapshots, imaginatively conveyed through physical theatre, than a fully formed story or character exploration, many focus on the pressures women face to look and behave a certain way. It’s a nice idea, but while some scenes are insightful, others are more clumsy. When a man is dragged on to the stage to dance for a wedding first dance, the mood is predominantly one of awkward embarrassment.
